A week in my life…
As I mentioned in the opening of this newsletter, my life has been very full lately. It has been soul-full! I am trying to be more balanced in the rhythm of my life, including putting blog plans on hold when a friend comes to town.
Dawn and I have been fast friends since we were 11 & 13 (I’m older, she reminds of it often 😉 ) — that’s just about 46 years of friendship. It’s a beautiful friendship, where you can not talk to each other for weeks or months and yet not miss a beat when you are together. We know each other’s loves, dislikes, faves, obsessions, quirks and more. She’s about as close to a sister as I have!
We were so busy galavanting all over town that I didn’t get a picture until the morning she left. We got pedi’s and were ladies who lunch; she helped me figure out a gift for our son for his graduation; she’s a master at organization, so we talked through a few areas where I need help. (I need a lot of help!) 🙂
We spent a few hours at the mall, something I don’t do very often — she is my style guru and helped me pick out a few new comfy outfits (see below for links), that I love! It’s been a grand week!
What Readers Are Saying about…
Ham and Cheese Sliders (Hammy Sammies)
Everyone, and I mean everyone, loves these sandwiches! We call them hammy sammies, but they also go by Funeral Sandwiches or simple ham and cheese sliders.
This recipe is amazing, I have been making these for team dinners and church potlucks for over a year. Every single time I make these people ask for the recipe and I send them here! They are great with turkey and cheddar as well. Thank you!
Rachel
These are very good I have made them 3 or 4 times. They have been good every time

What Caught My Eye | Sales and Deals
Check out the images below items HERE! Plus, previous week’s finds!
Dawn took me to Athleta, I have always loved their clothes but didn’t think they would look good on me! Our sales gal was super helpful, too, in finding age appropriate styles, so disregard the pictures in the links; it’s not what they look like!
- First up are these super comfy, yet can dress them up joggers. I got these in navy, these will be great for going from winter to spring.
- I got this sweatshirt in a soft blue, higher in the front and longer in the back (I love that), and it’s SO BUTTERY SOFT!
- Also, in that same seasoft fabric (so SOFT), is this ยผ zip sweatshirt I bought in cream? This is perfect if you are short-waisted like me; it’s not a crop top on me!
- Along with these joggers, I bought these in black; these do not look like sweatpants on, you can dress them up or down!
- Oh, and I have been on a mission to find no-show socks that don’t slip down and bunch up in your shoes (anyone else?), and she turned me onto these from Athleta (I love them, they really stay put)!
- One thing about my friend is she hates chopping; I showed her my alligator chopper, it’s a great gift for the person in your life who doesn’t like chopping veggies or who chops a lot!
I’m excited to start my new book club book; Where the Light Falls by Allison Pataki and Owen Pataki. She wrote one of my favorite books from a few years ago; The Magnificent Lives of Marjorie Post — she’s a brilliant historical fiction writer.

Weekly Inspiration | Be a Light
Loved this study this week from YouVersion’s Verse of the Day in the Bible App. Below are make notes and takeaways from this short study.
“You are the light of the world – like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden” Matthew 5:14
- We are only a light when we have His (God’s) love shining through us.
- We are chosen. We can’t do anything to earn honor and responsibility of being a light reflector.
- Don’t hide your light!
- Light it up! Let it shine before all!
- No more darkness!
- His light compels us to worship — the purpose of carrying His light isn’t to draw attention to ourselves but to compel others to worship God.
If you don’t do a regular Bible study, I highly encourage you to get involved in one. It can be as simple as doing a verse of the day during your morning quiet time; I’m so enjoying this Through the Word Bible app, which takes you chapter by chapter in easy-to-understand language via an audio recording. If you need ideas, shoot me an email! I’d love to share some of my favorites with you and I hope you know how much you are loved by our Savior, Jesus Christ!
Whelp, gotta run to my weekly Bible study and get caught up on a few things. May your week be full of light and love, and may your team win!!!
