A week in my life…
Our youngest as he headed back to school on Sunday. It’s always hard to say goodbye. Our oldest son turned 22 on Thursday! 22, he was just skipping off to Kindergarten!
On Tuesday, we attended the memorial service for the mom of a dear friend. She was almost 93 and ready to go home to be with Jesus. She was an incredible woman of adventure who skied and hiked well into her 80s, an amazing interior designer, and, most importantly, an invested mom, grandma, great-grandma, and friend! It’s been a while since I went to a memorial service filled with so much joy and hope!
Yesterday, we found out that our hot water heater needs to be replaced — it’s old, we get it, but it is never a fun thing to spend money on, right? It should hopefully be replaced this morning.
Now I am focusing on Easter preparations. We are hosting our house church family for brunch and a service and I am so excited! Everyone brings a little something, it’s a grand feast!
What is a house church? It’s a fast-growing movement in the US, where people meet in homes each week instead of attending brick and morter churches. They are involved in doing life together, and support one another in prayer and other ways.
Our pastor graduated from Denver Theological Seminary and pastored a traditional church for a long time before starting this house church 19 years ago. We started going about 3 ½ years ago and we couldn’t love and appreciate this community more! They have become like family! Did you know that about 85-90% of the world meets in house churches vs traditional church? If you ever have questions, I’m an open book and would be happy to chat with you, just shoot me an email.

Fun Fact About Me
I am a recovering “workaholic.” I say recovering just like they do in the 12-step programs because it’s always a battle. Years ago, a roommate challenged me and held me accountable to build in downtime, play time, fun time. I so appreciated her doing that.
I have good days and bad days, but I’m very conscious about working all the time, and with a small business, believe me, you can work ALL THE TIME! So now my husband (also a workaholic) and I are holding each other accountable to step away from our devices; go for a walk, meet a friend, have more people over, to say yes more to people who ask us to do something spur of the moment, or just relax together without a computer in our laps.

Fresh Inspiration – Risen
“Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!” Luke 24:5-6
“Epic, groundbreaking, world-changing. Ever word falls short of capturing the magnitude of Easter Sunday. It’s the most significant event in world history and in the lives of Jesus followers. Christ is risen from the dead!
It was early Sunday morning when the women went into the tomb to tend to Jesus’ burial site. As they approached the tomb, they were shaken because they realized the stone had been rolled away, and when they entered the tomb, they couldn’t find the body. Two angels approached them and asked, ‘Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!’ (Luke 24:5-6) Then they remembered Jesus had said, ‘The Son fo Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ (vs 7)
The powers of darkness had taken their best shot at Jesus as He hung on the cross. And yet, things unfolded precisely the way Jesus said they would (Matthew 16:21). Death could not hold Jesus in the grave, and on the third day, He stepped out of the tomb. You serve a risen God who is as alive today as He was on that resurrection Sunday. No power of hell and no force of evil can prevail over Him! Rejoice that you belong to Him and that with Him all things are possible!
It is because of the physical resurrection of Christ that you can have hope. You can have faith. You can have freedom. Your life is altered because of what you’re celebrating today. This is not just a feel-good story. This is the story that rewrites your story. When Christ rose, He proved that He is Lord. His promises are true. His Word can be trusted. His relationship with you is ever-fixed and abounding in steadfast love. And you can walk freely in a mission with Him forever. “

Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus? I welcome conversation if you are not sure of where you are going when you die. Until the whole world hears. (Matthew 28:19).
