Variations & Substitutions
- As a dip, you may want to keep the sauce thick. However, thin the fresh sauce with a few tablespoons of milk or heavy cream for a light dressing.
- Add lemon zest for extra citrus flavor.
- Use only fresh dill for a more mild dill flavor or only dried dill for a stronger taste.
- Skip the mayo and use only Greek yogurt for a healthier sauce.
- Use reduced-fat Greek yogurt and mayo, if preferred.
- Sour cream is another alternative to plain yogurt or mayonnaise.
- Add Dijon mustard for extra tanginess and another layer of flavor.
- Replace the garlic powder with fresh garlic, minced.
Storage Tips
Store the leftover sauce in an airtight container, like a glass jar, in the refrigerator for up to five days. If the ingredients separate, you may need to give it a good stir.
