Happy Father’s day to all of the dad’s reading the blog today! I know we have at least one! 😉
“Being a father is a great responsibility and privilege. It is an opportunity to show your children the love, grace, and forgiveness that our Heavenly Father has shown to us.”Billy Graham
I miss my Daddy, he went home to be with Jesus in July of 2005, much too soon. My bonus Dad, Bill is an amazing man, a wonderful husband to my mom, fabulous Grampy to our boys and I am privileged to call him Dad! Remember to call your dad, or someone who has been like a dad to you this Sunday!
We continue to have an exceptionally wet and cool late spring here in Colorado, with almost daily thunderstorms and heavy rain, our lawns are going gang-busters and my peonies finally bloomed!
Hey, do you have any peonies? They’re super easy perennials to grow, but depending on where you live, you gotta keep an eye on the hardiness factor. This one in particular is rated in the Hardiness Zone 4 (-30 to -20° F). And this Sarah Bernhardt is one of my favorites!
Are you ready to celebrate the dad in your life? We are hosting a small brunch on Sunday with a few church friends, my hubby is pretty low-key about these things and honestly as long as I make a delicious meal, with a chocolate dessert, he will be THRILLED!
I am thinking about these Smashburgers with air fryer steak fries and probably this Copycat NBC Chocolate Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake — though I’m also toying with this triple threat; Death by Chocolate Torte – one of my original recipes on the blog, the post is clunky (hey, I was brand new to this blogging thing) but the recipe is to-die for!

- And loving these lightweight linen-stretch capris and this nautical boat-neck t-shirt.
Have you heard of Caraway? The healthier newcomer in the non-stick bakeware and cookware market. I received a set of their cookware and have been happily testing it and I must say, I am loving it. Check it out.
Did you know?
A fun fact about Father’s Day is that it was inspired by Mother’s Day. The celebration of Father’s Day was initiated in 1910 in the state of Washington.
In 1972 (58 years after the first official Mother’s Day) President Richard Nixon signed a proclamation declaring Father’s Day a national holiday in the United States. Since then, it has been celebrated on the third Sunday of June each year, honoring fathers, grandfathers, and father figures for their love, support, and guidance.
Love this quote from one of my heroines, the late Corrie ten Boom. Remember that, always! God knows your, He wants the BEST for you, He can be trusted. This beautiful watercolor is from Bible & Brush, check out her beautiful feed on Instagram.
