A week in my life…
This week my brother and sister-in-love stayed the night while on their way to the mountains, and yesterday our niece and nephew-in-love hung out with us for a few hours along with kiddos. A full house is a wonderful thing! So fun having them!
I always want to be honest. My last couple of months of fun, visitors and travel have really challenged me. Hang with me here….
For a (recovering) workaholic; doing things out of your routine can be a challenge. I know that probably sounds weird; who wouldn’t want to travel, have friends and family visit, go scrapbooking and more…right? But for this cross-it-off-the-list, thrive-on-routine-girl, it’s been an internal struggle. I mean fun vs work? Is there even a question?
There shouldn’t be, but I find myself conflicted. I’m really working on being present when my routine is interrupted. In the end it’s about loving others well, not how many recipes I post. (Can I get an AMEN!) Anyone else struggle with finding this rythym?

- Favorite Knife | Do you have a favorite knife? I use this mid-sized knife for just about everything and have had it for probaby about 10 years!
- Travel Sneaker | I am on a hunt for a lightweight, what I would call “travel sneaker” comfortable, but not too bulky. What do you think about this one? Do you have a favorite? Shoot me a comment!
- But I also love this slip-on leather sneaker by Vionic, my favorite comfy shoe brand. I just ordered Wide, because the regular was a little tight for me; we’ll see – I’m hopeful!
- Love this elevated wood beaded tray for a little Easter decor!
- How about this pretty blue pitcher/vase? Perfect for some fresh daisies! Or these realistic faux ranunuculus (probably my fave Spring flower).
- How adorable is this indoor/outdoor garden bunny?
- I adore all things hammered copper, bought these beautiful measuring cups and am using them for a simple Valentine’s display (but I will totally use them for measuring too!) Hand blown glass hearts from Cabo, but you can find them online too!

Weekly Inspiration | It’s OK If It’s Messy
Loved this daily devotional by Alicia Bruxvoort – Proverbs 31, it’s a little long, this is just an excerpt, read the entire thing!
“It’s OK if it’s messy,” I told my students as they opened their notebooks and began to write. Of course, they knew I wasn’t talking about their penmanship; I was talking about life.
The teenagers in my classroom were more familiar with academic failure than success. And sadly, by the time we met, many of them had begun to believe their perceived deficiencies defined their worth. They often hid their ache beneath bravado or apathy, but behind those deft facades were wondrous and hurting humans longing to be understood.
I couldn’t change my students’ pasts, but I could create a space of grace in the present. So I modeled authenticity and honesty. And each week, we paused our study of classic stories to candidly consider our own.
As my students grew to trust me, they often left their notebooks on my desk, corners creased on the pages they wanted me to read.
They weren’t performing for grades or striving for accolades. They were discovering the joy of being known, finding quiet relief as they realized they didn’t need to struggle alone.” READ MORE
Oh how I desire to model love, authenticity and honesty! See you next week my dear friends!
