Welcome to Kathleen’s Monthly Cooking Club Challenge for August 2024—the very first in what I hope will be many to come!
This month’s challenge is Banana Chocolate Chunk Muffins – the perfect back-to-school breakfast treat or afternoon snack.
At The Fresh Cooky, we think the best times are spent around the table with family and friends; full of stories, belly laughs, and the simple joy of connecting. Don’t think of this as a competition, but rather as a community cooking and baking together.
We’re kicking off our August challenge today with our banana chocolate chunk muffins, and I hope you’ll join in the fun.
How it Works
The concept is super simple: Each month, I choose a recipe. You make it and leave a comment on the recipe’s blog post. At the end of the month, I randomly select one winner to receive the prize.

August’s Recipe: Banana Chocolate Chunk Muffins
As we prepare for back-to-school this month, we’re making my tender banana chocolate chunk muffins! Here are a few reasons I love them:
- They’re packable. Individually freeze the muffins and pop them in a lunch box!
- Delicious! Full of real banana flavor, sprinkled with puddles of chocolate.
- Versatile. Don’t have chocolate chunks? Use chocolate chips or mini chocolate chips. Make mini muffins. Add nuts. Leave the chocolate out.
- No Mixer. 30 minutes to these easy muffins, no mixer necessary!
Remember to Make it Yours
- Add your twist to the recipe! Add nuts, raisins, whatever you want!
- Make it gluten-free: If GF is your thing, use a quality GF All-Purpose Flour
- Show off! Be sure to email me a picture for a bonus entry!
