Hello Fresh Foodies!
Baby it’s HOT outside! We’re having a heatwave, a tropical heatwave. It’s in the 90’s and triple digits all across the country.
So I thought, why not feature my favorite Cool Summer Drinks and Dinners that do not require an oven, because let’s face it — who wants to cook and bake when it’s 90+ degrees out.
We’ve been in Bozeman, MT this week working on the house our son and roommates will live in next year for college. No A/C, God bless all of you who live in hot climates without A/C, I’m a weenie! It’s been a hot one too!
My motto has always been, “I can do anything for __________ days” Fill in the blank with the amount of time; hours, days, weeks — when I’m exhausted, cranky and hot, I tell myself this often — try it, it really works!
I shared several pictures and videos of our painting adventures on Instagram!
Use the table of contents links below to navigate quickly on the post.
Here’s a few pictures as a snapshot of our last 7 days! We have packed a lot in this last week.
- Our last time watching Gabe “fly” at swim team finals. I am a little sad that this is the last year of swim team.
- My boys at Swim Finals — Kieran didn’t have one since it was the summer of 2020, bittersweet, but so good to have them both there!
- Swim team banquet — so many lasts, but so many firsts to come!
- My hubby and I on our way to Bozeman to paint.
- Gorgeous garden in our side yard.
- The next three pictures are just a variety from each day during the hot, sweaty, painting process.
18 Cool Summer Sips {Non-Alcoholic & Alcoholic}
What better way to cool off than a tall, ice cold glass of your favorite drink. I’ve got cocktails and mocktails and almost all of them can be made into a mocktail (or a cocktail for that matter).

My Favorite No Oven Dinners
We don’t use our crockpots enough in the summertime, at least I don’t — but truly it’s just as amazing in the summer as it is in the winter!
Do One Thing You are Uncomfortable With
This is something I have been working on this year — my Mastermind group of blogging friends have decided that we have permission to push one another — and that includes doing things we are uncomfortable with.
So a few weeks ago, I applied to be a guest speaker on a podcast! Scary stuff for this introvert! We taped (do you still call it taped??) the interview this past week, it won’t air until September 5th, but I have to say I am excited about it, I will share it with you once it is live.
Reader Testimonials
These are comments from real life readers who have tried and loved TFC’s recipes!
- Bison Burgers with Caramelized Onions | These are by far my favorite burger ever! No bison? No problem, make with ground beef, turkey, chicken or even a plant-based ground “meat”.
- I was thrilled when one of my readers send me this comment about Copycat Crumbl Chocolate Chip Cookies — then she followed it up with a picture of them!
