Family Recipe!

Bursting with warm, holiday spices, these German spice cookies are tender and warm and the best dunking cookie as they cool!

Ingredients

Flour Sugar & Eggs Baking Powder Spices Powdered Sugar

Authentic Pfeffernusse  Cookies

My grandparents were 100% German, tracing our heritage back to Prussian royalty, these pfeffernusse cookies were my grandmother’s family recipe!

Baked with the perfect combination of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and black pepper, Pfeffernusse Cookies are my family’s favorite traditional German cookies.

Form the dough balls...

The dough will be dryer than a typical dough, but should hold together when pressed and formed into balls.

After baking, roll the slightly warm cookies in the powdered sugar coating.

Pfeffernusse Cookies

I love the spices of the holidays, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice and especially family traditions that taste delicious.

These deliciously spiced cookies are in our cookie jar every Christmas.
