Pizza Rustica

Stuffed with cheese, eggs, meats, and vegetables.  A traditional Italian Easter pie.

Crust & Filling Ingredients

Combine the flour and salt with a whisk. Add in the cold chunks of butter, cut in with a pastry cutter. Add in eggs and ice water.

Rustica Pizza Crust

Split dough and shape into disca, wrap and refrigerate.

Make the  filling

Brown Italian Sausage, add garlic, and spinach, then refirgerate.

Roll out the  pizza dough crust

Finish the filling and add all the cheeses. Add the meats, cooled sausage and veggies, and mix everything together. Sprinkle in salt and pepper.

Cover the pie with crust as directed, add slits, and bake.

My healthy twist on this recipe, is using organic fresh cream butter, organic flour, organic eggs, uncured meats and all-natural and organic cheeses.
